Bengaluru-based QpiAI secures $32 million funding from Avataar Ventures and NQM

Bengaluru-based QpiAI, a leading player in integrated AI and quantum solutions, has secured $32 million in fresh funding. The investment round was led by Avataar Ventures and the National Quantum Mission (NQM), with participation from both new and existing investors, according to a report by The Times of India.

The funding will accelerate QpiAI’s mission to build powerful and reliable quantum computers capable of solving complex challenges across industries like agriculture, drug discovery, and manufacturing.

Founded by Dr. Nagendra Nagaraja, a tech industry veteran with over 25 years of experience at companies like Nvidia and Qualcomm, QpiAI is pushing the boundaries of traditional computing. Dr. Nagaraja identified quantum computing as the key to overcoming current computational limitations.

“We’ve built India’s most powerful quantum computer with 25 qubits, and we have a clear roadmap to scale up to 1,000 qubits by 2030,” said Dr. Nagaraja.

QpiAI also plans to expand its workforce to 200–250 employees and is preparing to launch a 64-qubit machine by the end of next year. A major focus for the company is the development of error-corrected logical qubits, essential for achieving scalable, commercial-grade quantum applications.
